Rest day!

So, we woke up in Nelson after sleeping well with high hopes of this being the best place in the universe. Sadly, this was not quite the case. It seems that it's a brilliant place to live but was fairly uninspiring for the casual visitor. The town centre was fairly like many other town centres but we did have a productive, relaxing day.

We started off by having a quick look at the hill the cathedral (it's a city I guess!) is built on top of. This provides a vantage over town which is worth a look. The ring in the Lord of the Rings films was made here in a little jewelers: Jens Hansen. They won a competition and were commissioned to build all the rings for the films. Scott liked this!

We spent the rest of the day exploring town, drinking coffee, eating cookies and doing jobs. We finally booked our flights to Sydney and really finalised our North Island plans. It's all very exciting!
