Cycle: 20km

In our usual rushed style, we packed our bikes up and sent a parcel of belongings to the UK in time to catch the 1pm bus to Taupo.

On arrival at Sky City the bus driver told us that there was no room at the inn for Humphrey and Lottie and that were being transferred to the 8pm bus which the bikes would definitely fit on. This was cool with us as we got to explore the Auckland CBD a bit more.

We had a lovely lazy afternoon. We had lunch on Mexicali Fresh, read the papers, got a haircut each at Mr Miss ($10 for Scott and $25 for me and not a bad job at all!), had coffee and ice cream at the Harbour and finished it off with a glass of NZ bubbly to celebrate Scott's jobs offer and the beginning of our next leg.

The bus deposited us in the middle of Taupo at about 1am and we found our way to the campsite although it was a tough 3km!
