Cycle: 60km
I was woken this morning by the sun heating up my head. We walked up to the lookout over Tolaga Bay and Cook's Cove for beautiful views. We then walked along the 650m wharf (was the longest in the Southern Hemisphere or something, the usual thing!)
I adjusted the height of my saddle and Scott stepped in to help but broke the adjuster thingy so the saddle just slipped down! But, to make amends he swapped the part for the one on his bike and we peddled back in to town to buy a long bolt but to no avail. Instead we had lunch in the same fabulous cafe as last night (great carrot cake!)
The ride to Gizzy was a bit of an urban sprawl and it took us a few km to get in. The campsite was right by the beach, huge and full of cool athletic surfer kids (there may have been a surf champs here?) It was very hot when we arrived. We showered and walked in to town to buy dinner as we were too tired to cook for ourselves. We looked for restaurants but found none - Gizzy was a bit dead for a Saturday night. Instead we found a Noodle Canteen and had a big box of udon noodles. All washed down with a packet of Tim Tams in the tent - I must give these up!
