10/03/08 - Methven to Geraldine

Cycle: 71km

Today we woke up to stunning weather again but hoped that it would last the whole day this time. We said goodbye to our very friendly hosts (and Baileys) in our hostel/homestay Alpenhorn in which we slept in possibly the comfiest bed ever. The ride today was slightly downhill pretty much all of the way and we managed to maintain a fairly respectable average speed. The scenery was mainly pastural with a backdrop of mountains as we cycled along the edge of the foothills. We didn't stop anywhere of note but went straight through to Geraldine.

We checked in to the Geraldine Motor Camp and set up our dry tent and clean bedding! After showering we went into town for fish and chips and were served by a very friendly metal mosaic and world's largest knitted jersey enthusiast. We promised him we shall go and see these attractions tomorrow!
