After the complete battering of the night before we decided to take it easy for a day.
We went for a short wander round Akaroa town which is lovely. It was, for a brief period, a small French colony and has strived to retain this heritage and typical French atmosphere. The shops and cafes were great, the bakery better (as you'd imagine) and the road signs reminded me of Jersey with Rue this or Rue that. There were several jetties with small sailing boats moored up here and there, and a relaxed tabby cat sitting on the sea wall intimidating the sea gulls! We need to get some of them down at Greve de Lecq!
We were still feeling fairly shaken and tired so bought supplies and relaxed for the afternoon watching TV, drinking wine and eating nice healthy food. In the evening we watched a film called Stranger Than Fiction which I loved. I'm not normally a film buff, but this completely captivated me!
Mmmh, fluffy warm towels.
