Cycle: 12km

After 306 differing bits of advice on how to get our bikes on the bus back to Auckland, we got up really early and got to the Napier Travel Center by 7:30am to be told that we couldn't really do anything until 8:20 - 10 minutes before the bus left! Boo!

Still, our driver was great and we had our own section for the bikes. The bus journey made a refreshing change from sitting on the saddle so we happily read until we got to Auckland. There were loads of kids on the bus heading into the city for the Big Day Out.

Upon arrival, as I was rebuilding the bikes, two tramps decided to sit right next to my bike and proceeded to sniff glue and tried to initiate a slurred conversation with me. We were both feeling a little intimidated when four big Sky City security guards came over and firmly moved them on. Thanks!

We had a pleasant evening with Tim, Cindy and Keesha over a lovely Mexican meal cooked by Cindy.

Then a bed for the night! Woo-hoo!
